Quick Review: On the evening of Sofia Claremont's seventeenth birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake.

A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood.

She is kidnapped to an island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine.

An island uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet. She wakes here as a slave, a captive in chains.

Sofia's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn when she is the one selected out of hundreds of girls to join the harem of Derek Novak, the dark royal Prince.

Despite his addiction to power and obsessive thirst for her blood, Sofia soon realizes that the safest place on the island is within his quarters, and she must do all within her power to win him over if she is to survive even one more night.

Will she succeed? ...or is she destined to the same fate that all other girls have met at the hands of the Novaks?

Detailed Review: << copy from the author herself>>

I really thought about the book and bounced my thoughts here and there... I guess this book was actually pretty interesting to read and it's been hectic here and there. But I gotta say I enjoyed A Shade of Vampire!

Bella Forest (the author) has written a fascinating story where a five-hundred year old vampire wakes up and falls in love with a human (but she's his slave). You know what's the dramatic irony in this plot, Twilight is quite similar but I assure you to *Lovers and Non-Lovers of Twilight* this has an exciting and fool proof story where I really feel drawn to.

At beginning you'll be like "Hmm...this doesn't feel very captivating..." Well, read on! It was kinda boring at the beginning but slowly the plot fell into place and you'll go "Now, that's what I'm looking for!"

SOFIA; is a girl (duh, obviously!) who is in the middle of vampire war between vampires and vampire hunters where she is taken or kidnapped into a vampire coven where she will become a slave due to her looks... She has become the Vampire King, Derek's slave. In a way, it's either be sucked to death or escape!

LUCAS; I really hated this character... he is an annoying brat and a definite coward. Trying to make Sofia's his. I mean, you just met the girl and badaboom! You say... "Your mine" in a seductive tone. Do you think the girl will fall for you? YES! But in this story, *the* first guy character doesn't get the princess.

DEREK; The moment he woke up, I was just... bleh. But if you read on, it becomes more interesting because in a part of his history - Derek, Lucas, their sister and their father were all normal humans who worked on a farm until his mother was killed by a vampire... Derek is said to be the strongest vampire in all of history "Vampire King" might I add, hopefully he can protect his slave before she ends him so she can trust him!

All I can say is, when you continue reading this book, you may find it a little boring at the start but it's going to be exciting in the end because it's one cliffhanger she's got. Just ending like a happily ever after? is soooo not going to happen when vampire hunters are stronger these days.

With danger hanging by its thread and going to be snipped at, at any seconds I have to say Bella Forest has an interesting writing style where it starts off slow and captures at the very middle and the ending!

With heart pumping romance and a vampire suckers on the loose, will Sophia ever escape the coven?!?

Brief Review: A Shade of Vampire is a story of two very different people where they in fall love, fight evil (yet one of them is) and slay the dragon *bad* vampires. Love, passion and exciting paranormal romance gets twisted into a rose, you gotta say "This book is AMAZING!"

My Rating: 5/5    "Totally Amazing!"
